Facilities

The construction of our factory in Egersund began in February 2018 and was completed in February 2019. Here we produce high quality marine proteins (fishmeal) and marine oils (fish oils) from superior pelagic raw material.

We use LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) in our production. The use of natural gas provides major environmental improvements to air emissions.

Our factory also features 160 meters of deepwater harbour.

Egersund Harbour

Egersund is ideally located along the southern part of the coast of Rogaland with proximity to important pelagic fishing grounds in the North Sea. In addition to long-standing historical traditions for this type of reception and production in the region, Prima Protein represents an important part of our food county.

Some raw materials from Norwegian fishing vessels are delivered to Danish plants, but we can now offer a new subsidy to fishing environments that need more landing places in Norway. Thus, Egersund is perfectly located to take part in these deliveries.
